Särtryck ur ‘Meddelanden från Lunds universitets historiska museum 1979-1980’. The article represents the the first stage in an analysis of Bronze Age settlement in Scania. The large collection which was recovered during salvage excavations during the 1970 's provides the starting point for the analysis. Special attention has been paid to setting up hypotheses about the many clay-pits, which are placed in relation to the transition to long-house settlements as a result of an economic change in the transitional period between the Early and the Late Bronze Age.
