Oxford, printed at the Theater, and are to be sold by Moses Pit at the Angel, and Samuel Smith at the Princes Arms in St. Pauls Church-yard London, 1683. 4:o. pp. 359-398, (2) folded engraved plates. Illustrated. Modern marbled stiff wrapper. First page slightly soiled, some foxing occur. Engravings with old damp stain, which are also narrowly cut near the edge of the plate. From the library of Denis Leigh, with his name label on fly-leaf.

Extract from ‘Philosophical Transactions. Num 153. November 20, 1683’. The main article including the engraved plates covers pp. 359-385. Also includes ‘Recherches curieuses, &c.’, pp 386-398. Engravings by Michael Burghers, a Dutch illustrator and artist, who spent most of his career in England. He was commissioned to create maps, estate plans, and illustrations of stately houses, by the English aristocracy.
