First printed 1813 in London. A very rare first edition of the German translation of Sutton's original description, which gave its name to delirium tremens. Sutton clearly distinguished this condition from other psychoses associated with brain diseases and described his successful treatments with opium. He also clearly recognized the connection to chronic alcohol consumption and practiced in Kent.
